COMPARATIVE STUDY ON PREVENTIVE METHOD FOR SEROSANGUINEOUS FLUID COLLECTION FOLLOWING OPERATION OF OSMIDROSIS AXILLAE

Abstract
|

|
The fundamental treatment for the osmidrosis axillae is the operation such as simple closure. z-plasty and Limberg flap, and so on.
Recently,removal of apocrine gland and subcutaneous tissue through 1 or 2 incision parallel to axillary skin crease has been commonly used to conceal the scar
But troublesome complication of this method is collection of serosanguineous fluid and its incidence was reported about 15%.
Therefore we would work to find the best methed for prevention of serosanguineous fluid
collection in "Flap to graft conversion method"from Jan. 1985 to Dec. 1986.
78 patients of osmidrosis axillae were studied in 3 comparative groups as follows; Group 1; compressive dressing with drain insertion (28 patients) Group II; compressive dressing with thrombin application (25 patients) Group III; suction drain insertion (25 patients)
This study reveals that each group´ s incidence -of serosanguineous collection is 14%, 10%, 2%, respectively and Group III is the best method for the prevention of serosanguineous fluod collection.
